DeFi came into existence in a restricted, trustless environment and is shaped by it: economical bootstrapping issues combined with scarce resources, storage and compute. In an evolutionary process it found product market fit for on-chain finance. TradFi is formed by real-world business processes and regulation around capital; relations are trust-based, enforced by law in edge cases.  These worlds are very different and results in friction between DeFi and TradFi.
