Smart Contract Interfaces (ABIs) Deserve Better
2026-04-10 –, Glatt (Y22-F-68/70)

Web3 development still lacks the interface lifecycle Web2 teams take for granted. Smart Contract’s ABIs are often shared through Slack or Discord, bindings are inconsistent, and neither humans nor AI agents have a reliable way to discover the right contract interface at the right version. This talk explores what modern CI/CD for on-chain interfaces should look like: per-commit builds, versioned registries, provenance-linked artifacts, and AI-ready contract access.

Smart contract interfaces remain one of the least mature parts of the Web3 delivery stack. ABIs are often shared manually, bindings are regenerated inconsistently, and there is rarely a reliable, versioned distribution flow connecting source code, deployments, and downstream consumers.

This talk explores a better model: treating ABIs and generated bindings as publishable build artifacts, with CI/CD pipelines, immutable versioning, and better discoverability for both developers and AI-driven tooling.
