I am a distributed systems engineer and researcher. I completed my Computer Science degree at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, where I began my early research on neural machine translation for low-resourced languages. During my Master's, I worked on load balancing, microservices performance characterization, and server architectures.

In 2019, I started my PhD at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, where I focus on robust and resilient consensus protocols. My work involves designing new consensus protocols, implementing them, and conducting extensive evaluations in real-world setups.

Prem Makeig is the CEO and co-founder of Unruggable. Since 2021, when he first understood the idea of Web3 and how the internet could be upgraded using blockchain and crypto, he has been dedicated to the research and development of the ENS protocol. He began as an open-source developer, contributing to the ENS core protocol, and is now the CEO of Unruggable, which created Unruggable Gateways, a core part of the ENSv2 tech stack and roadmap.

Claudio J. Tessone is Professor of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies at the Informatics Department, University of Zurich. He is co-founder and Chairman of the UZH Blockchain Center. He is also incharge of NetSci Society. He holds a PhD in Physics (on complex systems) and an Habilitation on "Complex socio-economic systems" from ETH Zurich. He is an expert in the modelling of complex socio-economic, and socio-technical systems from an interdisciplinary perspective. He is interested in the link between microscopic agent behaviour and the rules these agents abide to, and the global, emergent properties of socio-economic and socio-technical systems.
Blockchain-based systems and cryptocurrencies are the main pillar of his research (being among the first to study them). As of 1 April 2017 I am working as a professor at Ritsumeikan University, Japan, in the College of Information Science and Engineering while keeping some projects as a principle investigator at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA), University of Zurich, Switzerland.
