Beyond Open Source: IP Strategies for Web3 Projects
Michael Kunz

Most software developers in the blockchain space publish their source code on GitHub and release it under an open source license. However, in an effort to protect their intellectual property rights, an increasing number of projects have decided to move away from the (pure) open source model. This presentation will explain how Web2 and Web3 companies differ when it comes to IP protection and take a look at different software licensing practices that are used by industry leaders. The presentation will also look at the vampire attacks and assess them from a legal perspective.
