Decentralized science is a movement that seeks to regenerate scientific work through the use of Blockchain tools. It is a model that allows direct interaction with researchers and DAOs. In Mexico and Latin America, the percentage of resources directed to science is less than one percent and this means that research is of low quality and has no commercialization potential. The intellectual property often belongs to the institution that grants the financing and this centralized model limits access to the data and removes the intellectual property from the researcher who created the project. The objective of this talk is to explain the general panorama of decentralized science and how its application in Latin American countries would boost their economy and scientific work
The information to be presented would be as follows.
Definition of decentralized science
DAOS and BIODAOS
The Valley of Death in scientific research
The use of Blockchain to enable scientific work
Decentralized science projects
The opportunity in Latin America: Mexico as an example.
I am a thesis student in the area of fundamental cellular processes in the area of neurophysiology, founder of deSci México and lover of knowledge. My career at web3 is recent, but I am prepared to give my best to build an impactful decentralized science community in my country.
