Navigating the Waters of Decentralized Exchanges and Onchain Spot Trading
04-05, 13:20–13:40 (Europe/Zurich), Verge Stage

Providing a compass for newbies and veterans to the waters of on-chain trading. This presentation explores recent advancements to AMM design, highlighting their potential for serving LP providers and traders alike.

Since the inception of on-chain trading, traditional Automated Market Maker (AMM) designs have sparked an economic interplay involving liquidity providers (LPs), arbitrageurs and swappers. Initially, the existence of impermanent loss posed a significant challenge for LPs and slippage exploiting sandwich attacks caused harms to swappers within the AMM framework alike. Recent advancement in AMM design address the disadvantages by changing the structure of liquidity pools and trade settlements to prevent arbitrageurs and attackers drain value from AMMs.

This presentation explores recent developments of AMM design, explains new possibilities for on-chain market making and gives guidance for all trading on chain.
