How can blockchain make Open-Source work better?
04-07, 10:35–10:55 (Europe/Zurich), Verge Stage

Open-source developers face critical economic challenges. They lack a dedicated business model and are faced with a tough choice: They can either adhere to the community, open-source, and free software principles, but that often results in a lack of funding and resources, or they can compromise on those values by adopting a more traditional company model.
With blockchain, we can finally have the best of both worlds: a community-driven ethos and commercial success. Let’s explore how we can fulfill all stakeholders' needs and attract investors by leveraging blockchain, tokenomics, and DAO!

With a passion for decentralization and democracy, I founded "Open-Source-Economy" to blend open-source ethos with business principles. One of the first engineers at Swissborg, I helped architect their financial system, enhancing accessibility for over a million users. Fluent in multiple languages, I've shaped my perspective on democracy through diverse cultural interactions. Beyond work, I advocated for direct democracy through a YouTube channel and attended a democratic high school emphasizing student participation and self-governance.
