Cross-chain DeFi has historically been constrained by fragmented liquidity, inconsistent security guarantees, and brittle bridging assumptions. This talk presents a case study of a modern approach. We will distill lessons learned about building robust omnichain DeFi products using existing battle-tested standards (e.g., LayerZero). Attendees will leave with actionable patterns for designing robust
The talk will present the end-to-end design of a modern mulit-chain DeFi application. We instead focus on the implementation of a modern dapp in order to illustrate to new and experienced builders that dapps should no longer be constrained to a single chain.
We’ll describe the properties that such a system can achieve, which can be considered a menu for dapp developers. For example, we will describe how a system achieves both composability and determinism across heterogeneous environments by separating interfaces and roles that each chain plays. This allows properties like consistent semantics, slippage-protected state transitions, and replay-resilient cross-chain queues. We will describe how this results in a minimal-trust operational layer, where admins orchestrate flow but are cryptographically and contractually prevented from extracting funds, reflecting a principle of operational flexibility without custodial risk.
