2026-05-08 –, Sladkovský Stage
Prague’s city planning is a layered process shaped by multiple actors, competing interests, and ongoing negotiation. The presentation frames public space design not as a finished product, but as a continuous work-in-progress. It will introduce the work of IPR in Prague and the challenges of integrating the interests of various actors in public spaces.
Often various institutions and city districts create their own conceptual planning strategies that only consider their specific context and respective regulations/practices. The sheer volume of information from these strategic documents and their lack of integration can lead to fragmented decision-making and misaligned investments. The presentation will explore some real-life examples of consequences of combining interests in public space and introduce a conceptual project for the Public spaces masterplan that is currently being developed at IPR.
