ERC-8152: Content-Addressable Logic Modules (CALM) - eliminating Initcode Variance for Registry-less Logic Modules
2026-05-09 –, Sladkovský Stage

We introduce ERC-8152 (CALM) for Content-Addressable Logic Modules. By enforcing a direct cryptographic binding between runtime bytecode and address, CALM eliminates dependencies on variable initcode and factory state. This enables universal logic parity across all EVM chains and "verify once, trust everywhere" workflows - with zero impact on EVM clients or consensus.

Multi-chain fragmentation has turned smart contract identity into a social trust problem rather than a cryptographic certainty. Currently, EIP-1014 (CREATE2) allows for counterfactual deployments, but identity remains coupled to deployment-side effects (salts, constructors, and immutables) making cross-chain logic reuse a manual and error-prone process.
This talk introduces ERC 8152 exploring a shift toward Content-Addressable Logic Modules (CALMs). By enforcing a "No Constructor/No Immutables" rule and deriving addresses directly from functional opcodes, we create a global, permissionless library of immutable execution blocks.
This talk includes: Machine-Executable Validation; The Metadata Dilemma; Global EVM Cache Efficiency; Atomic Logic & The Naked Dispatcher and signaling the smart contract compatibility.

By standardizing an "atomic" format free of deployment side-effects we enable a global library of permissionlessly replicable logic that lives at identical addresses on every chain with zero overhead.
