While much research has been undertaken around allocation of funds, there has been relatively little focus on how we can increase the amount of funding in the first place. This talk will present ideas on how to do so at the protocol, smart contract and front-end level.
Ethereum is currently stuck in a prisoners dilemma loop, where everybody would benefit from more funding to ethereum growth and security but no single actor has the incentive to do it alone. There is also a need for users to have the option of contributing to ethereum public goods when interacting with dapps and for smart contracts to programmatically distribute money to its dependencies or contributors.
This talk will present strategies by the Ethereum Foundation Funding Coordination team to increase top of funnel flow of funding to public goods.
Devansh Mehta is leading work at the Ethereum Foundation on using AI for public goods funding and governance. He has extensive experience in decentralized organizations, as treasury working group lead in Arbitrum DAO and as a 2024 council member for Gitcoin and Octant.
