Frame Transactions are promising to be the biggest update for Ethereum since the Merge.
This new transaction type allows us to achieve many of Ethereum's long-standing goals: Post-Quantum Resistance, Account Abstraction, Gas Abstraction, Passkeys, Batching, and more!
This talk will start from the basics and get dive deep down into this proposal and what it means for the future of Ethereum.
It is fair to say that EIP-8141: Frame Transactions has been in development since 2017, when Vitalik Buterin has published "EIP-86: Abstraction of transaction origin and signature".
Almost a decade later, we finally have an Account Abstraction EIP seriously considered for inclusion by the core developers.
The actual proposal is surprisingly simple, somewhat controversial, often misunderstood, and surrounded by rumors.
As a co-author of the EIP and a founding member of the ERC-4337 team, I will explain the architecture of this proposal, its implications, and the rationale behind every decision that brought EIP-8141 to its current form.
