Jan is an environmental economist, project coordinator and university teacher at the Faculty
of Social and Economic Studies of the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem.
He is an expert on the economic issues of green and blue infrastructure, climate change
adaptation and water management. He is also involved in popularising the topic to the
general public.

Among other things, he co-authored the publication Water in the City, which brought a
unique comprehensive view of rainwater management to the Czech environment. This
combined a purely technical view of measures with planning, economic, environmental and
landscape aspects.
