ZK Proof Generation Infrastructure: Overhyped or Underutilized?
06-01, 14:00–14:55 (Europe/Prague), Flower Stage

Examining ZK infrastructuree: Essentiality, users, and demand for zk-marketplaces and proving services. Beyond zkL2s/zkVMs, who fuels the need? Exploring future and practical uses in ZK-proof supply-chain.

In the rapidly evolving ZK space, new concepts like zk marketplaces and zk proving services are emerging, yet the major zkL2s remain largely centralized in terms of proof generation. This scenario raises several critical questions: Is the centralization of proof generation in zkL2s a significant issue? If these platforms do not move towards decentralization, what other applications could drive the demand for zero-knowledge proof infrastructure?

Tibor Tribus, CEO and Co-Founder of Maya-ZK, leads the creation of a proving middleware layer for ZKP clients, harnessing custom firmware and hardware acceleration to redefine efficiency in zero-knowledge proof generation. Before Maya-ZK, he contributed his expertise as a Smart Contract Auditor at Ackee Security,

Dr. Martin Derka is a distinguished figure in the blockchain space, with an extensive background in the development of smart contracts and Ethereum-based platforms. His work is particularly noted for its significant contributions to DeFi, where he has specialized in enhancing security measures and mitigating economic manipulations. As a co-founder of Zircuit, he has been instrumental in advancing the state of security in web3 scaling technologies. Martin's leadership in the design and implementation of cutting-edge rollup solutions has positioned him as a key influencer in the Ethereum ecosystem. Martin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada.
