While somewhat active in the Bitcoin community beginning with 2010, his involvement in the industry became full-time with joining Ethereum in 2014, after the token sale, but before the genesis block. His most widely used contribution is ERC-681, the standard for encoding Ethereum transaction requests in URLs and QR-codes. His project, Swarm -- the decentralized storage layer for Ethereum -- became a separate project in 2020, of which he was vice president until 2023. Since resigning from Swarm, he has been involved in various DeFi projects of smaller scope, in advisory roles and as an investor.

A partner at Collider a leading crypto/web3 venture fund.
My background is in startups. I was an early employee at ironSource (a unicorn acquired by Unity) and a founder in the space, in 2018 I created an onchain DAO to run hackathons (ETHBerlin, ETHDenver, ETHIndia, ETHWaterloo) until covid came. Advisor to DAOstack and on the founding team of DXdao, once of the most spectacular failed experiments at decentralized governance at scale

In 2016, I realized my personal goal for the foreseeable future is to build and push the ecosystem forward, whether it's crypto or Web3. Here's how I define them:

  • Crypto: Right of center, libertarian tones. Decentralization away from authority, notably the state. Self-sovereignty leads to a better society.
  • Web3: Left of center, social tones. Decentralization to give 'power to the people'. Egalitarianism leads to a better society.

Karam Alhamad is the Governance Coordinator at Web3 Foundation, where he supports and coordinates decentralized governance initiatives across the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. A blockchain evangelist and governance builder, Karam holds a Master’s in Global Affairs from Yale University, where he focused on blockchain and tech governance. He was named an Ethereum Foundation Fellow in 2022, recognizing his work at the intersection of decentralized systems and post-authoritarian resilience.

In 2019, he founded ZeFi, the first Arabic open-source blockchain academy, which has reached over 100,000 learners across the MENA region. His career spans war zones and Web3, from documenting state violence to designing trustless coordination mechanisms. For Karam, DAOs are not just a new mode of organization, they are a political and humanitarian imperative. When institutions collapse, code can become both infrastructure and ideology: a means of survival, resistance, and reimagination.

With 20+ years of leadership experience across finance, shared services, and sustainability, I bridge the worlds of business performance and purpose. My work spans multinational corporations and fast-moving startups, where I've led ESG strategy, built high-performing teams, and implemented complex transformations — always with an eye on the future.

As Group ESG Manager at Rohlik Group, I lead CSRD reporting, sustainability innovation projects, and stakeholder engagement across Europe. I'm certified in Sustainable Financial Strategy from Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, and my passion lies in driving measurable, data-backed impact at scale.

Creative by nature (you’ll often find me painting or dancing when off duty), I bring curiosity, energy, and a strategic mindset to everything I do. My goal is to step into a Chief Impact Officer role — where ESG, innovation, and executive leadership intersect.

Paul Brody

As EY Global Blockchain Leader, Paul Brody is responsible for driving initiatives and investments in
blockchain technology across consulting, audit, and tax business lines, including the build-out of the first
EY global SaaS platform, Blockchain.EY.com.
With Brody at the helm, EY was the first and only professional services firm to commit to public
blockchains and Ethereum. Since then, EY has launched public blockchain solutions, including
participating in the creation of the Baseline protocol alongside ConsenSys and Microsoft, which aims to
help enterprises adopt public blockchain. Brody also helped build the industry’s first smart contract
testing platform and first on-chain audit platform.
Beyond being the driving force behind enterprise blockchain innovation at EY, Brody also serves as the
Chairman of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), the leading global community for enterprise
blockchain.
Brody has gained global recognition for his commitment to public networks and for his belief that
enterprises can and should utilize the core principles of true decentralization and transparency for a
better working world. It is that commitment which led Brody to pioneer Nightfall, a breakthrough
technology that brings the benefits of privacy to the Ethereum network, and Starlight, a prototype
private business logic compiler. Both technologies are open sourced to boost awareness of public
blockchains and confidence in their security and transparency.
In 2023 EY Blockchain was named market leader in the HFS Horizons Public Blockchain Services report.
The EY team’s clear market vision and focus on Ethereum have led to this position for public
blockchains. In addition, W3B named the EY Global Blockchain Team 2022 Blockchain Services Award
Winner, recognizing providers of blockchain technologies and services that are working to transform
their clients’ operations, supply chains, or ecosystems. W3B also awarded Paul Brody the Blockchain
Leadership Award in 2022.
Prior to joining EY, Brody served as Vice President and Global Industry Leader in Mobile and IoT at a

multinational technology company. In 2023, he authored Ethereum for Business, a book to help non-
technical, C-level executives and company leaders understand how and why Ethereum applies to
specific use cases. Brody earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and a certificate in African Studies,
both from Princeton University.

Vugar Usi Zade

Vugar Usi Zade is an award-winning business leader and communications strategist with 15
years of experience driving growth across Fortune 500 giants, tech unicorns, and Web3
disruptors. As Chief Operating Officer of Bitget, this award-winning strategist has transformed
the exchange from a top-20 contender to the world's second-largest crypto platform, multiplying
its user base fivefold to 120 million through a mix of decentralized leadership and calculated
risk-taking.
With 15 years of experience scaling both Fortune 500 giants and Web3 ventures, Vugar's
career is nothing short of a playbook in modern growth hacking. He's shaped narratives at
Facebook and Twitter, redefined brand strategies at Coca-Cola and SONY, and co-founded a
MarTech unicorn before most understood the space. As an early Web3 advisor at Bain &
Company, he was decoding blockchain's potential while others were still debating its existence.
An alumnus of both Harvard (as an Edward S. Mason Fellow) and Oxford, Vugar possesses a
unique blend of expertise that combines academic policy sophistication with hands-on
experience gained in the fast-paced world of startups. This duality fuels his leadership: global in
vision but hyper-local in execution, bold in ambition yet grounded in economic reality. Beyond
Bitget, he hosts Usi Talk, a no-BS podcast where AI, crypto, and emerging tech collide with
hard-won insights.
