The Focus Tree app just launched on Starknet. It’s an app that helps students focus and onboarded over 100k active users in short weeks. The app is built with the Argent wallet, Starknet’s native account abstraction and the AVNU paymaster. In this talk, I explain why FocusTree is successful and which devtools should be used when building successful web3 consumer dapp.
Building sustainable and value adding consumer dapps is Ethereum’s goal. So far, we haven’t seen many Ethereum/ blockchain consumer applications that appeal to non-web3 users. It’s a tough gap to bridge. Focus Tree is an application that helps students focus, and it’s built on Starknet. The app is reaching outside of the Ethereum ecosystem and talking to users who have no clue what Web3 is (and honestly they don’t care the app is built on Ethereum). What matters is that we’ve reached a stage where building Web3 consumer dapps is possible, where the UX is flawless and non-web3 users don’t deal with unfamiliar wallet interfaces. Starknet helps with this mission with native account abstraction and fast and cheap transactions. In this talk I explain which tech stack enables building such successful apps. It’s also a call upon all devs and founders to start thinking of non-web3 users for their Ethereum powered apps. It’s time to bring Ethereum to the whole world.
