Culture is threatened by oppressive regimes, wars, natural disasters, and thefts. To lose it is to lose the stories that define it. How can we ensure its preservation for future generations? And why should we care?
Discover a unique case study from a 700-year-old Bohemian noble family that is turning to blockchain technology as a tool to restore, preserve, and authenticate the stories that define their now recovered cultural heritage—one that was confiscated twice by the Nazis and Communists.
Ileana Lobkowicz is a writer and storyteller who grew up in Prague. She is shaping the voice, strategy, and storytelling of her family’s organization, House of Lobkowicz, which oversees the management of five cultural heritage sites, offering full-service event design and hospitality management, cultural tourism experiences, and the Lobkowicz Collections—one of Europe’s oldest and finest private family art collections. As a creative steward of stories, she is using her ancestral heritage to serve as a bridge between the past and the future. Ileana is also focused on writing a family memoir and is the founder of Bohemian Vignettes, a platform sharing the untold stories about people, places, and food (for thought).
